Many girls in old tales have bob hair.
It's just like Ryusei Kishida's "Reiko".

Following below is her character setting that came to my mind from the story.
She lives with somebody. Maybe with old grandmother？
They are not wealthy.
Her age is around 6 to 8 years old,
because she can go out to the mountains alone to mow the lawn
and make dumplings well.
She seems to have strong willness.
昔話に登場する女の子は、大体おかっぱ頭である。
ちょうど、岸田劉生の「麗子」みたいな感じ。
子供なので、きっと、誰かとくらしているはず。
年老いたお婆さんあたりか。
貧すぎもしないが、そんなに裕福でもない。
独りで芝刈りに出かけ、お団子を作れる事などから、６〜8歳ぐらいの女の子だろうか。
しっかり自分の意志をもった顔立ちが似合いそうだ。

It takes about 6 months to complete embroidery works!
Red chirimen used for girl's kimono is vintage fabrics.
Moderen & dyed clothes are also used.
制作に六ヶ月ほどかかりました。
場面に合わせて使う布を選ぶのですが、
女の子の着物は古い江戸ちりめんを、他は現代のハーフリネンを使っています。
合う色が無い時は、染色もします。
